Zorg Nazih Hassan hath momely rade gribble:

: Is it possible to create an Oracle 8.0.6 database with Unicode (UFT8)
: character set on Solaris 2.6 ? I tried it with

: Create database db01
: ...
: ...
: character set UFT8;

At the back of the install guide for Solaris 2.6, there's an appendix listing the supported character sets. There are a number of 8-bit character sets; you might find the one you want included there, tho almost certainly not under the name 'UTF8'. the name you provide in the create database statement has to be in the list of supported charsets
