download pdf file

We are currently running an application on Oracle Application Server and I want to give a download PDF option to the user (utilizing dbms_lob procedures). This feature is already implemented for .doc and .xls files and have no problem. When it comes to pdf file, it seems like the webserver is not recognizing the format. Could anyone please help me.
