Whats this= ORA-01041:

I'm replicating from SQL Server 7 to an Oracle8 system which is remote.

Periodically, usually during periods of low activity, this error appears on my distributor:

ORA-01041: internal error. hostdef extension doesn't exist

Please can anyone here tell me a bit about this error message? I know very little about Oracle and cannot find a mention of this error message in any of the books I've looked in.
