I use Veritas File System for my Oracle databases whenever possible. Also use Veritas Quick I/O, which is an add-on to vxfs. These products will add a little administrative overhead, but will give you maximum performance and flexibility.

This is not in comparison to any competing products, only to vanilla ufs.
