Rename the INSTANCE or the DATABASE?
The first requires you may new services on NT with the new name, copy the existing cofig file to one with the new name and ...hmm actually that's about it. The other requires you make a new control file with the create control file command specifying the new name of the database in the command. If this is not a large database and you actually want to do both - export the current database, shutdown the existing one, delete all files and services and use the assistant to make a new database/instance with the proper name then import the orginal from the export file.
