For one of our customers we installed a new database server (Netware
4.20) with Oracle 7.3.4. Although the installation seemed successful, a
lot of problems have occurred since then.
The main problem is that in a Forms 4.5 application a lot of forms 'hang
up' the appication, for example after executing a query, or sometimes
already at startup. Other screens perform normal.
It is also very predictable: you know exactly which screens will cause
the problem at what point. We sent them new FMX'es, but this doen't
help.
The workstation (W95) performs normal; the application can be stopped by
pressing Ctrl-Alt-Del and in the task-manager "End task".
Queries performed by Oracle Browser or SQL*Plus pose no problems.
The application is used by several customers, and this problem only
occurs with this customer.
We've tried several things:
- Putting all the servers in one segment
- Running the application and Oracle tools on a local workstation
- Recompiling database-objects
but there seems to be no way to get rid of this problem. We would
appreciate any suggestion.
