Hmmmm,

the Oracle people that did a presentation regarding Java support for me on the Oracle database said PL/SQL is going to be the fastest of the two.

I guess the recomendation here should be to use PL/SQL when speed is required. Java is good in doing alot of things but PL/SQL is optimized for working in the Oracle database and will normaly be the faster of the two when in that environment.

Only advice for now is to rewrite the time critical parts in PL/SQL. And only run Java when your not in need of speed....
