my /sbin/init.d/oracle looks like this:
#! /bin/sh
case "$1" in
start)
echo "Starting Oracle server" su -c dbstart - oracle || exit 1 echo "Starting Oracle listener" su -c "lsnrctl start tcp_listener" - oracle || exit 1 ;; stop) echo "Shutting down Oracle listener" su -c "lsnrctl stop tcp_listener" - oracle echo "Shutting down Oracle server" su -c dbshut - oracle || exit 1 ;; *) echo "Usage: $0 {start|stop}" exit 1
Additionally you have to setup links from the runlevel directories to this script.
