If you have an Oracle 7 DBA client around somewhere, and run catexp7.sql from $ORACLE_HOME/rdbms/admin | %RDBMS81%\admin you should be able to create an Oracle7 export by connecting the 7 exp tool against your Oracle 8 database.
Loading an Oracle 8 dump will NOT work.
