Configuration tools of Oracle8i under linux

I installed Oracle8i under Linux Caldera but now I have a problem. Maybe you can help me .

My problem is that I need to run the next tools:

      Net8 Configuration Assistant
      Oracle Database Configuration Assistant
And he say for both tools the same fault:
      No output available for this tool.
And in the terminal I have:
      oracle.sysman.oii.oiix.oiixSpawnException: Java.io.IOException:

/usr/local/jre/bin/jre: cannot execute.

Please if someone can help me.
