HELP : ORA-00020: maximum number of processes exceeded

Hi,

I have installed Oracle8.0.4 on NT4 and noticed that after a few minutes (3 to 5) oracle start another oracle process by itself, and another ... until it reaches the maximum number of processes.

the time period for starting another process is about 3 to 5 minutes.

then it fails with this message :

ORA-00020: maximum number of processes exceeded

the problem is that no one is trying to connect to the database ...

Has anyone seen this before.
