We've been running into this error too, from queries executed by the
PeopleSoft front end. We had the same circumstances: 100MB shared
pool, <5 users, re-booting database did not help, error was
consistantly repeatable. It would only happen on specific views
though. I eventually got around the issue by re-writing the view and
using hints to change the execution plan. Sounds to me more like an
Oracle 8 bug. (I'm running Oracle 8.0.5.2 on HPUX 10.20)
