user name and passwd -->SQL Plus

Hello,

I have installed Oracle 8i on a Solaris. 1). I have a problem starting SQL Plus, i am ignorant of what username and passwd should be used to open sqlplus initially. why am i getting error ORA-01033 ?

2). orapwd: why is it used?  
3). i don't have webDB --where can i download it?
4). When i start dbassist& i get this error

"Jnls Exception: oracle.ntpg.jnls.JNLS Exception.."character set not found. please check insatallation..."

Please help me ..
