Oracle 8 pricing

I'm looking to purchase Oracle 8 for my Internet based start-up. I've heard they're pretty aloof to the needs of small companies pocket books. Any ideas on how to get good pricing? I've heard playing the Microsoft ISV card and purchasing through your hardware VAR are both good avenues and am looking for more. Any help would be greatly appreciated with a basket of fruit, wine and summer sausage.
