Designer Config. Management

Is anyone actually doing configuration management for Designer (2.1.2),

what methods do you use?, what is actually controlled in terms of
versions?

I can understand that the generated forms/reports can be incorporated
in the config management tool (we are using PVCS Dimensions), but I
can't see
how the database design, module definitions etc in designer can be
controlled.
