Hi FF,

I don't know of a patch enabling OAS 4.0.7 to run with SP4. I think you are confused by a discussion (started by me) about such a patch on OAS 4.0.6.4.

The problem with the ORB not starting could have something to do with your network settings instead of the patchlevel of your OAS. In 4.0.6.4, the same message occurred due to an incompatibility of OAS with NT SP4/5.

At my PC it helped me to request a fixed IP-address from my network administrator (in stead of using DHCP) and add this and some related addresses to my network settings. I also added the computer and the domain name to the .../etc/drivers/hosts file.

It might help you to know that I've got OAS 4.0.71 running on NT SP5, that is said, with some limitations. Just keep in mind that the Oracle NodeManager (the Java based browser interface to OAS 4)doesn't start everything you want. For example, in my case the cartridges don't start, even when I reload them from the Java interface. I use a workaround by starting them from a dosbox with the OWSCTL command.

BTW: I installed the patchset 4.0.7.1 (which can be found at metalink) first, so 4.0.7.1 was the first 4.0.7 version I installed. I never started the 4.0.7 version.
