It seems to me that the design of delayed block cleanout is flawed.

There must be endless situations where rollback segment data becomes unavailable (either through being overwritten, or may be the rollback segment being taken offline/dropped) ....

.... and there real rub is that there seems to be no real guarantee that a DBA can configure the system in such a way as to avoid this problem altogether. Received on Wed Jul 07 1999 - 04:05:59 CDT
