What are users CTXSYS,DRSYS, MDSYS and REPADMIN in my Oracle 8 DB?

I have users CTXSYS,DRSYS, MDSYS and REPADMIN in my oracle 8 database
(NT), who have lots of tables that belong to them. My application did
not create them. Are these oracle system tables, or are they left over
from some previous user of this system?
