You might be editing the wrong tnsnames.ora. I have Webdb
and 8i installed on a single nt workstation, and I have two
tnsnames.ora files:
e:\oracle\ora81\network\admin\tnsnames.ora -- Oracle 8i e:\oracle\webdb\net80\admin\tnsnames.ora -- Webdb
It's the SECOND file, the one under the WebDB home, that needs the webdb entry.
