Can Oracle on NT utilize more memory than the OS ?

It has recently been suggested to me that Oracle has (in the last year) developed some new "memory mapping" capability that allows it to "see" and "use for the SGA" more memory than NT 4.0 can see and use.

That is if NT 4.0 can only see 2GB (or 4 with EE) and you put, say, 8 GB in the machine, Oracle has this new capability with "parameters that can be set" that allow it to use all 8GB. Can anyone confirm/deny this?
