This is how I'm doing cold backups and recovery: Is this ok? Are there any problems i might run in to later?

Im running Oracle 8.0.5 on redhat linux 5.2 The box im working on is scheduled to go into production in the next few weeks. currently i am doing a cold backup nightly of:
/u01/app/oracle/product/8.0.5/dbs/mydatafile.ORA
and everything inside of:
/u02/oradata/ORCL/
/u03/oradata/ORCL/
/u04/oradata/ORCL/

When formatted all the drives, and reinstalled.... and recovered the datafiles, control files, and redologs back to there original locations
The database starts just fine....
