We currently run Oracle 7.3.4 on Solaris but convosync=dsync was recommened to us by Veritas. I think you should be ok from an exposure standpoint. I believe that dsync writes the data syncronously but delays things like inode update (date/time stamps). I'll have to look it up for sure. We did try it but found we just didn't have enough memory to really take advantage of this option.
