i have oracle 8.0.5 successfully installed on a dell server running redhat 5.2. i can mount the database from 'SVRMGR>', but i cannot get the database to startup and shutdown automatically when the system is restarted. i have followed the documentation (making a service and editing the oratab file, etc.), but apparently not correctly.

anyone with experience in this area that could lend a hand? thanks in advance!! =)

chad
