Using Oracle 7.2.x, Oracle 7.3.x and Oracle 8.x

Does anybody know a way to automaticly execute/trigger a procedure/function or a
set of statements when connecting a specific user to the database.

We are depending on specific settings of environment and init-actions that should be performed before any normal activity in the database. Since the database is accessed both from application and various report-tools the initsialisation has to be controlled from the server.

Since it is a mixed environment the setting on the user-side may differ from the
required one. The application-schema is in some cases only one of several in a database, the triggering must therefore be connected to the user.
