I am attempting to insert a large text variable into an Oracle field of type Long through Visual Basic using ADO v2.0. If the length of the text is fairly short <300 characters all goes well. If the length of the text is longer, I get an error message.

I get the error message:
80004005 Microsoft OLE DB Provider for ODBC Drivers[Microsoft] [ODBC driver for
Oracle][Oracle]ORA-01704: string literal too long Does anyone know why this is happening?

Thanks,
Gene Berger
