Oracle Questions with Linux

I have a few questions, but first I know little about the oracle products.

I want to build an oracle system with parallel servers. Can I do that?

Oracle tells me that Linux can not support this because it has multiple processor issues. I don't know that I understand their implication since I have a machine running SMP and a cluster of Linux boxes all working well with each other.

What I want to know is this.

  1. What product would I want to use 8 or 8i
  2. What exactly is the difference between 8 and 8i?
  3. I believe that I need a product called Parallel Server Option to get parallel servers up and running is that true and does it exist for Linux?

Thanks,
Michael
