How d/ Oracle handle TCP connections

How does Oracle handle TCP transactions?



Does it use the local stack (Mac and PC)?



Does it use it's own stack or stack extensions?



We're having a delay problem with Macs using Oracle 8.  There's a seven
second delay in the routers for the Mac client.
