OTN docs say it's been tested with 1.2.6 also. Will the two in fact work together? I ask as I have compiled Apache 1.2.6 with OAS 4.0.7 according to the directions. I then successfully registered it as an external listener. The admin listener/utility indicates the Apache listener is up and ready, but no listener is actually started. The Apache log files get created, but remain at 0 length, and all requests to the port the Apache listener is supposed to be listening to are refused. Clearly it did not come up, but neither can I find any logging information as to why it crapped out.

Attempting to start the instrumented Apache httpd process from the command line fails as it complains about not being able to connect to the dispatcher, so there is no clear way to debug my problem at this moment. And finally, using owsctl from the command line to start the registered Apache listener, even with the '-T' option, appears to start everything fine. However it does not.

Any hints as to how to debug an external listener would be appreciated. Also, anyone who has successfully registered an Apache listener with 4.0.[67], I would be grateful for any pointers or configuration issues you might have come up against.
