8i -- is it missing anything?

We have a bunch of O7 and O8 databases around our co., and for our newest project which is very web-focused, are thinking about 8i. Not having tried it yet ourselves we wonder if we'd still have our old faves: SQL*Plus, SQL*Net, snapshots/aliases, and the standard DBMS_* packages. We will need to talk to other Oracle installations which cannot themselves migrate to 8i.

Also, we'll be on a Solaris platform with minimal NT (only for the clients/browsers) Since 8i seems targetted as the "MSSQL killer" I wonder if the Solaris build is as strong, and seek advice/opinions from those who've deployed it.
