Hi Steve,

    I have run Oracle 6, 7.1.x, 7.3.x, and 8.0.x on RS/6000 AIX systems ranging in size from a 520 to a multiprocessor S70. Although I haven't Oracle on a Sun box in several years I see no reason to choose a Sun platform instead of an RS/6000.

    For a production shop I prefer RS/6000 because you can get hardware support anywhere -- even out in the boondocks.
