Listener (8.0.5) dies on TNSPING80

I'm using the O8EE 8.0.5 for WinNT (OTN Early Adopter Program). I try to do a TNSPING80 on some of the entries in my default tnsnames file and it crashes my Listener. I can see Listener has stopped in NT Services. I look at the listener.log file and it reports:

Attempted to listen on:
(DESCRIPTION=(CONNECT_TIMEOUT=10)(ADDRESS=(PROTOCOL=SPX)(Service=larryhoment_lsnr)))

TNS-12560: TNS:protocol adapter error
 TNS-00530: Protocol adapter error
32-bit Windows Error: 38: Filename too long

It doesn't matter which tns I try, same result. Does the OTN version have this sort of thing disabled, or is this my fault?
