I have the same problem with 8.0.3 and 8.0.4. I have only seen it with Net8 Easy Config. 8.0.3--Java.exe access violation error.(strange because SP4 was supposed to fix this "known Microsoft bug") 8.0.4--Just as you said, I could test no services/connections.

I did not have time to troubleshoot/debug. I just un-installed SP4 and re- installed SP3 and the problem went away. I have not been able to find any Metalink/Oracle explanations of this error. If you find anything please e-mail me (I need SP4 for Y2k). Sorry I couldn't be more help.
