To perform sorts, Oracle use the temporary tablespace specified for each user (check view dba_users). Normally, all users must point to the same temporary tablespace. You can correct the situation without introducing new problem by creating a new tablespace "temp" and by adjusting every user to point temporary tablespace on "temp".
