If there any sense in backuping them at all during hot backup?

It looks like archived logs must be sufficient for recovery. One point in storing them may be in that we will have complete database ready to start at the some point in time. But what about the way that files are copied? There is no such thing like 'alter redo log begin backup'.

 What All think about this?
