If the datafile belongs to the Index tablespace(or any tablespace that you don't really need), then you can just drop the Index tablespace and re-create a new index tablespace and re-create the indexes. If this database file belongs to the system tablespace, you have to re-install oracle.

What you can do, is mount the database and take the datafile OFFLINE and open the Database (if possible). Then see what Info was on the datafile and recreate it elsewhere.
