When trying to start my Oracle server (using dbstart) I am given the following error :

Database "MYDB" warm started.

What is, and what causes, ORA-03113 ? I am running Oracle 8.0.4.1 on Solaris 2.6. Although this results in a 'warm started' message, no database functions are available.

Please cc replies to russ_at_u-net.net if possible.

Thanks,
Russ.
