SSH and Oracle App Server?

We've gotten SSH set up successfully with SQL*Plus, no problem. We were hoping to run Oracle App Server (OAS) 4.0 over SSH as well, but it's not working -- lots of weird behavior, 5-minute connect delays, like that.

Has anyone out there used SSH successfully with any version of OAS?
