I have installed Oracle 7.3.2 onto HPUX 10.10; being a newbie to both Oracle and Unix I followed very intently the installation manual. I recall that the manual specified that root needed to do some preparatory work before installing from CD. You may want to double-check to see if that is not the case. Hang in there... get away from the box and have a cup of coffee and peruse the manual.
