Generally speaking, bar-code readers
output data as text through a serial port or a wedge device (interface between the keyboard and pc). You only need an
alphanumeric field to accept it.
Most bar-code readers can output a carriage return at the end to "enter" the data or you can get barcode wedges that are programmable and can output the characters any way you'd like. Received on Wed Aug 26 1998 - 11:55:23 CDT
