HPUX / Oracle Question Mult instance

Need to know, if I have 4 gig of memory on a HPUX 10.20 box and have the smax set to 1 gig, I can have an instance of up to 1.75 gig.  Can I also have another instance of 1 gig ( being a nice guy I'll leave the other 1.35 gig for OS etc...)
