Yeah, we got that. But what we don't understand is why... Obviously, some of us do want to use cookies, and think that we can conduct secure transactions with them (in my case I'm handling academic and personal data, not credit cards, but I'm still concerned about the security).

Now, either we're ok, or we're not. If we're not, we'd like to know exactly we, so we can try and plug the holes. So your reasoning could be of use here.
