Hans,

Oracle datafiles are specific to the OS/hardware platform they are created on and can only be copied successfully to binary compatible systems. The only way to move Oracle databases between different Unix platforms is via export (or SQL*Loader if you want to go to that much trouble). You will need to create the target database on your Sun box (using raw devices if you feel you must), do a full (or several partial) export(s) of the database on your RS/6000 and then import (everything but the data dictionary (i.e. user SYS))into the target database.
