Hi All,

I am a Sybase developer just starting with Oracle and there are a couple of fundamentals that I am still trawling through the doco to find out about. Maybe someone can save me some time so I can get started.

  1. Viewing procedure/package text from the database. In Sybase you can call the system procedure "sp_helptext <procedure name>" which outputs the uncompiled source of the given user procedure. You can do this for all of the system procedures also. Is this possible with Oracle 7 since I would like to view the system procs/package's.
  2. Which Packages contain the more widely used system procedures ?

I would be gratefull for any input.

Cheers
