As previously stated, although remote access to PO7 is possible it is not supported and so shouldn't be used.

The main administration tasks would involve checking backups - you know, those things you only think about doing *after* the database gets corrupted :-) and monitoring the database to ensure it isn;t about to run out of space. If it doesn't grow much then you may be able to get away with making the datafiles very large and hoping for the best. If you have dial-in access to the system you could do all this remotely.

If you have had no problems with the database so far I don't see that you would start getting them by moving to an enterprise (or workgroup) version of Oracle instead.

Not worth it in this case. PO8 is the same as PO7 in this respect.
