If you are looking at v$lock WHILST trying to lock the row (i.e. using
a second session to track down the problem), the following may help:

The TX lock that your waiting session holds will be a request in exclusive
mode (request = 6, but lmode=0) there will be another TX lock with the
same id1 and id2 with lmode = 6 and request = 0 - that row will be the
one you are waiting on
