SCO Openserver 5.0.4
Oracle RDBMS 7.3.2.3.0
SQL*Net 2.3.2.1.0

currently using mts via ipc and tcp (1 dispatcher each)

normal startup procedure

  1. tcp startup
  2. listener startup
  3. database startup

dispatchers register with listener normally at startup but i can't seem to find a way to manually force the registration process if i have to reload/restart the listener. is there a timer. tried "alter system" to set/reset number of dispatchers per protocol but it doesn't seem to work. have waited 5-15 min without dispatchers ever registering again. stopping/starting the database only takes a few minutes but is not possible in all cases due to uptime requirements. any ideas

thanks
