Your advice was neither rude nor arrogant and I am aware that there is a huge amount of work ahead. I should have said it is family business and there is no chance of being sued, nevertheless your remarks have been shown to the principles and I (and they) believe this project will be performed succesfully. I have been doing database work for ~3 years and have used Oracle for ~1.5 years (in an admittedly limited capacity). I have used Unix systems on and off for 8 years, though never as an administrator.

Your comments regarding Novell as a platform echo concerns I have heard elsewhere. I do not discount NT as a possible platform, but am dismayed by the number of complaints about it in this forum and others. I believe we will choose a low end Sun Sparc server, but the opinions of others experienced on these platforms can if nothing else help me feel better about the choices to be made; Of course facts and relatively objective evaluations are most desirable.
