Hey,

We have a Oracle 8 DB running on an SGI box with 2 CPUs and 384 MG of ram. The data in this DB will be used in a web app on our internal net. The web server is running on the same machine as the DB.

I had heard that there may be a way to set up a Listen port that uses a Shared Memory connection rather than a normal TCP connection. Is that true? Does anyone have any info or pointers to info on this subject.

thanks
