Today I tested this on some of our instances. Here is a summary:

7.3.4.1.0 on HP-UX10.20 : this bug can not be reproduced
7.2.3.0.0 on HP-UX10.20 : this bug can not be reproduced
7.3.3.0.o on Sun 2.5 :    this bug is present and can be reproduced
