Backup the registry key(s) for oracle under hkeylcoalmachine/software/oracle Backup the ORANT directory (just in case) Backup everything else (just in case)
Reinstall NT
Dont let it overrite newer files
import the registry keys backed up earlier. Usually works.
If not, blow everything away, reformat( cleans up junk from last year or so), install NT, install sp5,reinstall oracle and use same directories you used before, recreate your oracle services for any instances you have, restore backup over the top of the ORANT directory. Rock and Roll.
May miss something with first example. Second example has worked often for me. That is how I move a copy of the database to another machine quickly.

Simpliest solution. Full export. Blow everything away. Reinstall and reformat. reinstall oracle. Recreate instances and datafiles. Import the database.
